The Ultimate De Lacy Giveaway!

I totally suck, I've been keeping these giveaway items to myself per say, more like, hung on my door to admire/remind me I need to post the giveaway, because it has taken me forever and a half! But I swear it's with good reason. This month was quite cray CRAY.

1. Car totalled (that would be car #2) and you know the sh*t that entails with an event like that

2. I've been planning/preparing for my co-worker/bestie's move to the other side of the country. This entails going from seeing her everyday to barely EVER *sobs and today is her last day in California :(

3. My immune system decided to give up on me and leave me bed ridden and smell/tasteless (Yet I'm not convinced why I should get a flu shot)

4. I got an amazing opportunity to assist stylist Haiminh Deau for a couple GQ Russia photoshoots! He is a total sweetheart--completely pleasant, professional, and stylish, basically doing something you've only dreamed of doing, but with effortless charm. No really, he's on top of it. You'd expect atleast a bit of stuck up bitchatude from someone who gets to do this all day, but it's the complete opposite. Do you know what we did in the downtime? Played dress up! Our dress up pieces? Spring 2012 Givenchy sweaters covered in sorbet tinted sequins, Nicholas Kirkwood stilletos, a creme chiffon Galliano gown that would only zip three quarters up my side...Ugh, reality check.

Anyway, back to my main objective of this post:

The design

Last year, the De Lacy Collection gave me an awesome opportunity to design a piece for their Fall/Winter collection! It was a fun process and after the whole line was finished I was also able to be involved in the styling for the whole lookbook. All in all I learned a lot about how long it takes to produce a line from beginning to end as well as see a dress sketch come to life. I chose the vest to go with the dress because they are my favorite from her collection. The best thing about her collection is that it's fluid; you can mix and match all her pieces, which by the way, are all made of ultra soft fabrics with a comfortable fit. I guess you can say her line epitomizes "comfy chic"! =)
